Green Fund | RE-CYCLADES | 2023-2025

In 2022 SCE Apano Meria started a collaboration with the Sustainable Islands Network-DAPHNI and the Syros-Hermoupolis Environmental Education Center (KEPEA) with the aim of combating plastic pollution in Syros.
In 2023 we launched the RE-CYCLADES “Closing the plastic cycle for sustainable island communities – strengthening education for the next generation” project. This project is funded by the Green Fund, under Priority Axis 4 “INNOVATIVE ACTIONS WITH CITIZENS“, of the funding program “PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT & INNOVATIVE ACTIONS 2022“, and aims to create a circular plastic management model for island communities, with an emphasis on education and practical recycling.
The Precious Plastic Syros Lab plays a central role in the project by demonstrating the practical aspects of plastic recycling, while the wider initiative focuses on educating primary and secondary school students about reducing plastic waste.
